Descripció i   Metodologia:   Bloom’s Taxonomy of Learning tells us that “higher-order” thinking skills create more meaningful and memorable learning experiences. By exploring critical theory and applying it to EFL methodology, this course will present an alternative to activities that just ask our students to memorise and regurgitate the language. It will put forward a more analytical approach that instead forces the student to actively engage with the language on a personal and creative level. Combining methodology with practical ideas, this course will equip teachers with the tools necessary to motivate their students to speak and write more critically.

Objectius   -Apply critical thinking theory to EFL and analyse its benefits
-Explore creative approaches to Speaking and Writing activities
-Exploit and adapt Speaking and Writing activities for their critical thinking potential

Continguts   The course will be divided into the main “higher order” critical thinking skills and explore how these can be implemented in the classroom in the form of practical lesson ideas.
